Like for everyone else things in our church seem to get busier in the weeks leading up to Christmas. We've got a bunch of different ideas and events, not all of which we're going to talk about here. Here's a couple of our highlights.
Cookies for Water
Every year we run a fundraiser to support clean water projects around the world. Clean water is one of the first and most important things people need for a healthy, sustainable and flourishing lifestyle. Around the world access to clean water has an economic impact on communities who need to travel vast distances to gather water. That water is often contaminated and spreads disease throughout communities.
So to help motivate giving we've started cookies for water. If you donate $25 or more to our water project we will gift you with a tin of cookies as a thank you (assuming a reasonable distance for delivery). Over the years we have been able to help people attain a healthier and more sustainable life through clean water.
If you want to donate, see our Fundraising Page and click "Donate Now."
Candlelight Service
One of the ways we try to keep things simple in our church is by having our Christmas Candlelight service ahead of Christmas Eve. Our service this year will be Friday Dec 21st at 7:00 PM. We will hopefully be able to use the skating rink, and we'll have snacks and drinks available. The candlelight service itself has always been a meaningful time of reflection, music and being together as a community.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas season.
