Cookies for Water 2013

Our Cookies for Water fundraiser is back for Christmas 2013! This year we're supporting Mennonite Central Committee's water projects, and we have a goal of raising $5000. We chose MCC because of its respected reputation for providing relief around the globe, and because it's a somewhat local organization (MCC Ontario's head office is right here in Kitchener).

Why water projects? Well, when you think of it, how is a community supposed to rise up above poverty if its people don't have access to clean drinking water? Water is a basic right that everyone should have, but there are still 800 million people in the world who don't have access to safe clean water. We want to be a part of making a dent in that number (a drop in the bucket, if you will).

What do cookies have to do with water? Nothing really, but to thank everyone who supports the fundraiser, we're giving away tins of yummy homemade festive treats!

Here's how the fundraiser works:
  1. Visit our fundraiser page, and make a donation.
  2. Send an email to thenetworkchurch@gmail.com, or post a comment here, to let us know that you made a donation. You don't need to let us know how much you donated, just that you made a donation.
  3. Spread the word to your friends and loved ones however you'd like! Email, share on Facebook or Twitter, or face-to-face.
  4. After December 8th, you can pick up your cookies from 103 Simeon Street.
MCC's fundraising pages won't update with your donation until after you're receipted, so it's very important that you let us know so that we can thank you personally.
