Small acts of love

Tonight we had a simple event. We put together some packages with a variety of goodies to give out to some of the single parent neighbors we know. These are the kind of small acts of love that Jesus wanted us to be doing for those people around us. For some reason I am more encouraged about what we're doing after those conversations then I have felt in a while. Maybe Jesus was really onto something when he talked about loving our neighbors. What a thought!

It turns out that it's very easy to show love to people. These days we all feel like it's our responsibility to change the world, or solve everyone's problems. But what if we thought about embracing our community with small acts of love to the different people you know? Just to show them that they are valued and worthy of love, acceptance, and community. Let's all think of more ways we can live our lives in this way.
