Freedom

The first study night for the Network Church was a study of freedom from the view of the New Testament. Here's what I was talking about to start us off. Remember that these 'sermons' are meant to generate discussion, so I've got some stuff to consider along with some of the Biblical passages I was looking at when I planned this. Enjoy

Take a look at: Galatians 5:1; 4; 13Ephesians 3:12; James 1:25; John 8:31-36.

Consider these on your own or with a group.

1) If you’re really honest with yourself, can you think of things that you have in your life that you don’t need, that you feel like you need to have? It can even be something that you just really want. Is there anything in your home that you’ve gone into debt for, or given up relationships for?

2) How do you define sin? How we define it has a great impact on how we work against it? Is there anything in your life you can change today because of a broader view of sin?

3) Have you ever been able to force yourself into an act of love despite how someone else is treating you? And you can't cheat. This has to be a real courageous, sacrificial act of love.
